Concerns Surrounding Health Insurance and Coverage in Mental Health

During the ‘pre-production’ phase of the crowdsourcing lab, my partner Alexa and I brainstormed and tossed ideas back and forth to find a suitable topic for both our final projects.

After reviewing the Census website and narrowing down our options, we settled on a topic focusing on college aged students and young adults entering the work force, and their concerns with health insurance and the coverage on mental health.

With Alexa focusing on the impact of healthcare on people’s lives for her final project, and my focus on the impacts on mental health caused by disturbing media, we settled on a topic that made the bridge between insurance and mental health.

As college students, we take special interest in those closer to our age range, as the majority of working adults have settled into their careers and are less likely to face such issues surrounding insurance.
